RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat hoists Tricolour at Kerala school despite DC's order

Palakkad (Kerala), Aug 15 (Agencies): RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday unfurled the Indian tricolour at a government-aided school here despite being told by authorities that political personalities were not permitted do this.

Earlier on Tuesday, he was detained from hoisting the tri-colour, after the District collector issued a memo to the school, categorically stating that it was inappropriate for a political leader to hoist the national flag in an aided school.

The District collector added that only a teacher or elected representative of the people was allowed to do so.

The District Collector and police had told the Karnakeyamen School management near here that since the school was state-supported, only people's representatives or the head of the school could raise the flag and not political personalities.

However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) challenged the Collector's decision; standing affirmative that Bhagwat would hoist the flag.

The school belongs to RSS supporters and they had invited Bhagwat to be the chief guest on India's Independence Day.

DOES HINUTVA RESPECT NATIONAL FLAG AND DEMOCRACY?
It may not be out of context to know your attitude towards National Flag which represents a Democratic-Secular India. It is important to know it from the head of organizations which swears by Hindutva. I would like to draw your attention to the following statement which appeared in the English organ Organizer, again on the eve of Independence:
“The people who have come to power by the kick of fate may give in our hands the Tricolour but it never be respected and owned by Hindus. The word three is in itself an evil, and a flag having three colours will certainly produce a very bad psychological effect and is injurious to a
    country.”
Can those who denigrate the National Flag in such foul language be allowed to rule this country?Sarsanghchalak ji! Lay persons like me need to know from practitioners of Hindutva like you what you think of Democracy. I would like to draw your attention to a statement made by second Sarsanghchalak of the RSS and its most prominent ideologue till date, M. S. Golwalkar. As per
the RSS archives Golwalkar ji while addressing a group of 1350 top level cadres of the RSS in1940 declared:
“RSS inspired by one flag, one leader and one ideology is lighting the flame of Hindutva in each and every corner of this great land.”
Learned Bhagwat ji! This slogan of one flag, one leader and one ideology was also the battle cry of Fascist and Nazi parties of Europe in the first half of 20th century. What they did to democracy is well-known to this world. Can those who believe in such totalitarian designs be allowed to rule our country?
After the first Republic Day in 1950, the Sangh never hoisted the Tricolour at its Nagpur headquarters, sticking to its Bhagwa Dhwaj, inscribed with an "Om", even on R-Day and I-Day. It changed the practice in 2002 when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was PM.
why it had refused to raise the flag for 52years?
Do Bhagwat ji denounce the M.S.Golwalkar stand on Indian tri colour?
    Jai Hind

As far as I know national flags on independence and republic day are unfurled by the head of the institution. This had been the tradition during my school and college days. It would have been appropriate for Mr. Bhagwat to hoist the tri-colour at one of the RSS offices in Kerala and avoid unnecessary controversy.

@ CA Satish Shetty, Kinnigoli, Mumbai,

Let me quote you in toto - "RSS is a nationalist organisation, not a political party."

I agree with you.., but..... can we see any RSS (without prejudice..., famously known as Cheddi's), members genuinely (mathlab not FEKU) supporting other political parties like CPI/IUML/CPM/TMC/BSP/CongI etc., other than BJP,

To conclude BJP is nothing but the political front of RSS...., it is aparent in Hindustan's prime time TV DOMBARATA debates one RSS member is mandatorily appear to defend none other than BJP...,

Though I may be wrong.., with all humility, your clarification is much appreciated with due respect...,

Any Indian national has the right to hoist the our tricolor National flag on the Indian soil...When school authorities have no objection, what is the problem for DC ? Has he been bribed by All India Chor Committee (AICC) to make a media attention ? Kerala is an integral part of our proud India. Those who oppose a Indian national hoisting our tricolor on Independence day, for them there is another country waiting for their welcome & not fit for staying in India.

the problem is , more the opposition to this move by bhagawath, more will be the support for the BJP.
political play between the communist and the bjp.
and BJP will try all this tactics and more to gain foothold in kerala.
in the last elections, it was the congress which has lost thier vote share to BJP, contrary
to the view that BJP will grab communist votes.

so the looser will be again be congress in this issue in kerala and not communist.

As per guidelines, a teacher or an elected representative can only hoist the flag in an aided school. Bhagwat was told so, but, still his ahankar and excessive ego prevented him to obey the rules. Even the emperors were only for few years, they had to leave their castles and palaces behind. What is the use of ego, we have to bow to God one day.
