The relevance of these celebrations attached to independence has diminished because of the some wrong policies of the present government.
The ban on beef which was propagated in a wrong sense, lead some shameful lynching by misguided people and the government's failure in condemning the same has hurt the 'independence' or freedom of a common Indian citizen.
The removal of Pehlaj Nihalani comes as a relief, the freedom of expression through art is restored with a hope.
The state governments anti-Hindu policies leaves us in a doubt whether we still are a democratic secular country. The state supported ethnic cleansing of Hindu activists in Kerala gives an impression that the basic rights of a citizen to live has been curtailed.
With all these negatives, let us hope for a better India in future.
