Money laundering case: ED attaches Jagan Reddy's assets worth Rs 148 cr

Hyderabad, Jul 28 (PTI): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached assets worth over Rs 148 crore in connection with its money laundering probe in cases related to YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy and others, the agency said.

"ED attaches land worth Rs 148.89 crore in Andhra Pradesh under PMLA of companies of Nimmagadda Prasad in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy case," the agency said.

A provisional attachment order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) law has been issued, a senior official said.

The ED began its probe against the politician and his associates on the basis of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) FIR that stated that since "May 2004, Jagan floated number of companies wherein quid pro quo investments have been made by beneficiaries from decisions of the state government in various forms like SEZs (special economic zones), irrigation contracts, relaxation/permission for real estate ventures, mines among others."

This is nothing but part of BJP political strategy to weaken the regional parties who don't bulge their peer pressure.
In Bihar they used it against RJD and successfully broke the grand alliance.
In West Bengal minister after minister is booked in the same way to weaken the CM Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal.
Now as the elections to Telengana is nearing with TDP already in his side Jagan Reddy party father who served as Congress CM is in target.

Ironically, Liquor baron who can bid for IPL and still release calendar girls even after Modi became Prime Minister found safe haven in UK. Thanks to External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje , 'Lalit Modi' still enjoys 'Humanitarian' aide.

The BJP which promised corruption free India in 2014 elections, has full faith in former CM Yeddyurappa who is on bail from jail in mining kickbacks and denotification. PM Modi who has congratulated by quick Tweet to CM Nitish for corruption stand has no guts to take action against his CM Shivraj singh Chauhan in 'Vyapam' scam and 'Raman singh' PDS scam.
Interestingly when Pakistan Supreme court ousted PM Nawaz Sharif based for 'Panama Gate' scam, the same file is sitting in PMO getting antiquity status. No one know where is Rs20,000 investment vanished in Gujarat during Gas exploration block.
The political ambition of BJP has not only used government agencies as their will also ended the strong leaders like Jayalalitha where party wanted to triumph.
