Kundapur: Depression due to illness drives woman to suicide

Kundapur, Jul 27: A woman who was reporteldy depressed over her illness ended her life at Bankeshwar in Byndoor near here.

Shanthi Pais, wife of Dr Roshan Pais, is the deceased.

It is said that Shanthi got up at 3.30 am in the morning on Thursday, July 27. Roshan, who saw her awake, thought that she was up to drink water. But he later realised that she was not at home. When the family started searching for her, Shanthi was found dead in the nearby well.

Shanthi worked as a teacher before her marriage. After her second delivery, she had been facing health complications which led her to depression, it is learnt.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death.

    How sad ,now chilldren are without mother.May be she was only with children and not able to work must have leadto depression?or her post natal depression was not successfully treated.Heratfelt sympathy to her family.May her soul rest in peace.
