Busy traffic cops book only 17 drunks on Gatari

Mumbai, Jul 25 (TOI): The city traffic police recorded an abysmally low number of drunk driving cases on Gatari Amavasya.

Around 17 cases were recorded on Saturday of which the highest (four cases) were at the Kurla traffic outpost. On an average, the traffic police record more than 50 cases during Gatari every year.

Sources said the department was grappling with issues like potholes accidents, snarls, less manpower, and was not able to launch a dedicated drive against drunk driving this time.
