Bengaluru: Zameer vows to decapitate himself if JD(S) wins from Chamarajpet

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jul 23: Choosing to reach extremities of challenges, suspended JD(S) legislator, Zameer Ahmed Khan, has vowed to separate his own skull from the torso if JD(S) registers victory from Chamrajpet constituency during the next assembly election. This was his style of rebuttal to JD(S) supremo, Deve Gowda, who had recently convened a convention of JD(S) activists at Chamarajpet where Gowda had rained charges against Zameer and expressed his determination to overthrow Zameer and ensure victory of JD(S) candidate from this constituency.

Zameer, who did not want to take this challenge lying down, said that he will behead himself and hand over the severed skull to media persons if Deve Gowda's plans come true at Chamarapet.  "People supported me because they love me, not because of Deve Gowda. The voters treat me as their own son. Deve Gowda put in efforts for a month before he could hold a convention of his party activists in this constituency. At last, he could hold it at the palace grounds, and people know how many attended this programme. I am distressed at what Gowda uttered about me at this convention," he explained.

Zameer said he has lot of respect for  the JD(S) national president, but added that he did not expect such a demeaning politics from Gowda. "I have never indulged in ulterior politics and will never resort to it. Gowda lacks concern for the minorities," he said.

Responding to Zameer's vow, Deve Gowda, expressing sympathies to the dissident MLA from his party, said that Zameer need not bring into practice what he has vowed. "Zameer still has a long way to go in Congress and fulfill his ambition of becoming something there. Time and voters will decide our future. May Lord bless Zameer," he commented.
