Karkala: Buffaloes trafficking case - woman complains about missing husband

Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Jul 22: The incident in which buffaloes being transported in a pick-up truck was intercepted near Jarigekatte in Mundkur village in the taluk and the persons in the vehicle were brutally attacked, has seen an interesting twist. In this incident, driver of the vehicle, Rajesh Valerian Mendonca, had complained to rural police station here that activists of an organization had badly thrashed him on July 20 after stopping the vehicle.

The buffaloes in question reportedly belonged to Sadhu Poojary from Renjala Beejadadi near here. The buffaloes were being shifted to the residence of Chandrahas Shetty from Mulky for rearing them, it is being claimed by Rajani, wife of Sadhu Poojary. Rajani, in her complaint to district superintendent of police (SP), K T Balakrishna delivered on Friday, said that her husband, who was in the said vehicle, was attacked by the activists and that he has been missing since then. She has asked the SP to help her find him out.

"We are agriculturists, and some of the cattle were being shifted to Mulky for the purpose of raising them there. We had obtained gram panchayat permission on July 19 for this purpose. Still, activists of an organization stopped the vehicle and launched murderous assault on the occupants of the vehicle. The police of rural police station here have twisted the facts to project the driver of the vehicle as the main culprit. The police have also falsely implicated the driver for stealing the buffaloes, which is far from truth," she said in the complaint.

There is actually a law in karnataka ,passed during congress rule.
"Section 15 of the said Act gives immunity to persons acting in good faith to avoid cow slaughter. According to the section, no suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall be instituted against the competent authority or any person exercising powers under this Act for anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act or the rule made thereunder."

Now life becomes pathetic for even genuine farmers and cattle rearers.
Gomata and Goraksha movement is now out of the hands of those who initiated it.
Those who started this gimmick for political purpose will only give Bhashans.
Gorakshak will now not listen to anybody not even their master.
It started to boomerang on those who supported it.
I am not against Cow protection.
But, I strongly oppose troubling people killing people on the pretext of GAUMATHA.
    For me "HUMAN FIRST"
