LS adjourned twice after opposition ruckus

New Delhi, Jul 20 (IANS): Opposition parties created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on Thursday over farmers issues forcing Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to adjourn the House twice during the Question Hour.

The Speaker adjourned the House till 12 noon as the opposition leaders continued their sloganeering. Earlier the House was briefly adjourned for 20 minutes till 11.30 a.m.

Soon after the House met for the second time on Thursday, the Congress-led Opposition stood up and started shouting slogans.

The Congress leaders raised the issue of farmers. They were also seen mentioning some media reports.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar hit out at the opposition parties leaders for their absence from Lok Sabha on Wednesday, when the the agrarian crisis was debated upon.

"Congress has nothing to do with the farmers' plight. They are shedding crocodile tears," Kumar said.

"Yesterday (Wednesday) we were discussing agrarian crisis. The discussion was held till 10 p.m. But we saw that there were only two Congress members in the House," he said.

He also said that the entire Opposition bench was lying vacant.

"They have no concern for farmers. Congress and other opposition leaders should not disturb the House. They should let the House function," Kumar added.

Congress is totally clueless now what to do, how to go ahead with present senario from their downfall. Looted our country for last 10 years (forget about past 50 years), now remembering farmers.

If they really concerned about the Farmers, they should have done something in Karnataka to farmers, their own state government is ruling.
