Mumbai: Konkani Bhasha Mandal holds annual talent competitions

Mumbai, Jul 17: Konkani Bhasha Mandal Maharashtra on the occasion of its diamond jubilee celebrations held talent competitions at St Jude School auditorium, Jerimeri on Sunday afternoon July 16. Fr Lancy Pinto, parish priest of St Jude Church who was present as chief guest, blessed the occasion, inaugurated the competitions and conveyed his best wishes.

Konkani Bhasha Mandal president John D'Silva said, "Every person is talented. Organizations such as Bhasha Mandal inspire to bring them out.” More than 200 people, including children and older people took part in the competitions consisting of music, dance etc as well as showing off their talents and entertaining the gathering. Flora D'Souza Jerimeri, Judy Pereira and Lancy D'Souza Niddodi were the judges.



Bhasha Mandal chief secretary John R Pereira, treasurer Walter D'Souza, joint treasurer Cyril Castelino, Bhasha Mandal working committee member Lawrence D'Souza Kamani, veteran author V D'Silva Kanjurmarga were present on the dais.

Bhasha Mandal working committee member Leo Fernandes welcomed everyone and delivered the keynote address. Anantha Ammembal proposed the vote of thanks.
