Daijiworld Media Network- Puttur (RJP)

Puttur, Jul 16: The BJP youth leader from Kadaba was assaulted by a group on Sunday, July 16. BJP and pro-Hindu organizations have called for a bandh on Monday, July 17 protesting the assault.

Ramesh Kalpure (45) is the victim of the assault. He is also the vice-president of local CA bank.

When Ramesh was returning to his jeep after purchasing some groceries from Yashoda Super Shop, he was assaulted suddenly by a group of five people. One of them used a wooden plank to beat up Ramesh. When the assault took place, people gathered within no time and caught the culprits. Later they were handed over to police.

Prakash, Teenson, Sanosh, Lijo and Santosh are the persons who assaulted Ramesh.

Ramesh has been injured on his nose and left eye. He was given first aid at Kadaba and then was rushed to a hospital in Puttur.

Ramesh has stated in his complaint that the culprits took away Rs 55,000, a gold chain, a bracelet and a mobile phone from him.

Heavy arguments took place between supporters of Ramesh and friends of the culprits in front of Kadaba police station. Police controlled the situation later. Puttur circle inspector Anil Kulkarni and Kadaba SI Prakash Devadiga came to the Kadaba police station.

BJP and Hindu organizations have condemned the assault and called for a bandh on Monday.

"Youth leader" at 45? OMG I feel old at 52. What is the crossover age from "youth" to "wise old wily politician" in India?

Prakash, Teenson, Sanosh, Lijo and Santosh are the persons who assaulted Ramesh then These names looks like fake names just to divert the minds of the people and confuse them. Moreover, Lijo is Malyalee name. Something fishy is going on.

I think people should be matured enough not call for the bundh as victims are already arrested.
But ensure that those are culprits dealt with no mercy so that they don't have guts next time to
harm any people in public or private.

thank god, public caught culprit, or else bjp and sanghis might have forced police to arrest some innocent muslims and would have burnt whole state by bjpees as they claimed in some interview.
and shobhakka would have cancelled all her meetings and visited kadaba.

I appreciate the victim Ramesh for stating "culprits took away Rs 55,000, a gold chain, a bracelet and a mobile phone from him"..................... This avoids giving communal color to ever attack.

I also appreciate locals for catching victim because otherwise it would have ended up in communal color.

    Great gesture Ramesh and locals..

Some commentators are commenting because news says the victim is BJP leader. I urge Mangalore people to first read the news without seeing the caste, religion, political leaning. Learn something from Pejavar Swami

If the culprits were caught on the spot then why Ramesh has stated they took away cash gold and mobile. something wrong here. i feel even the victim is not saint here might be personal enmity. for god sake BJP, you guys never want to miss an opportunity to call for band. tomorrow if there is a pick pocketing also BJP will call for band.

The outside sources are trying to destroy the peace in DK . because they know that in DK its easy to fool people in the name of religion wit communal violence .So we need to be more careful and to keep the peace and harmony . If we continued same situation one day our DK will be ruled by third persons .

Thank God public caught the culprits otherwise some innocent people would have landed in jail for not done anything wrong.
When attackers already caught then wait is the necessary of calling for bands. These jobless peoples want to gather some more jobless people for no reason. When culprits are in police custody try to get them maximum punishment for their crime. Don't give punishment to general public by calling for bandh.
I feel pity for Naleen, Yeddiyurappa, Shobha, Sadanada Gouda and Pramod Muthalik as they didn't get chance to barking this time.
