Udupi, Jul 16: Dr Jerry Vincent Dias, managing director of city based Mandavi Real Estate Developers, was installed as president of CREDAI Udupi chapter. The official installation ceremony was headed by V L Jagadish Babu, chairman, CREDAI Karnataka at Mahajan Hall, Hotel Kidiyoor here on Saturday, July 15.

Addressing the gathering, V L Jagadish Prabhu said, “Udupi is very important city in India and CREDAI Karnataka has special place for this city. CREDAI has been established to uphold ethical values and keep transparency in real estate business. Every builder is the custodian of his clients. Our main aim is to safeguard the promised interests of our clients. All builders are striving hard to build the nation and provide employment to many in real estate industry,”

“The central government’s Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be a game changer for national economic system in future. From our part, we need to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) which will help the Government in nation building.” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Shankar Shastri, president CREDAI Karnataka said, “CREDAI originated in Bengaluru. The institution is not only restricted to Karnataka, but it is spread all over the country. It aims to bridge the gap between various other chapters. We need to work hand in hand to achieve our goals. This chapter in city will help to understand each member in a better manner. Udupi stands third in the state in real estate business.”

Newly elected secretary of CREDAI, Joyan Lewis of NISSI Infinity Private Limited, spoke about plans and missions of the institution in next two years. He said, “Udupi chapter plans to launch an e-portal system shortly. We will work with commitment and dedication towards developing greenery in the city along with our projects. We will organize value based CSR activities in Udupi. We also plan to increase the enrolment of CREDAI members. Besides this, Udupi chapter will help underprivileged families by donating free houses.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jerry Vincent Dias said, “Udupi has been recognized in the whole world. We always had a dream to start an association to help clients. So the like-minded ten members formed a group called ‘Udupi Builders Association’.”

“Everyone is waiting for the good days ahead promised by Prime Minister Modi. We will take time to understand rules and regulations of GST pertaining to real estate industry.” he added.

Recollecting memories of earlier struggle to regulate the building industry in city, Jerry said, “The struggle has been going on for long in different ways. And now we have succeeded. From now onwards regulation will easier," 

“Successful builders should promote and guide their children to engage themselves in business along with personal growth, rather than working in companies. This will lead to development in corporate sector,” he concluded.

Jerry also urged the state Credai members to give a chance to Udupi chapter to hold larger programmes to prove their potentials

Dr Jerry Vincent Dias was elected as the president of CREDAI Udupi for 2017 –18 recently. The newly elected office bearers of CREDAI Udupi are Manohar Shetty of Sai Radha Groups of Corners (vice president), Joyan Lewis of Nissi Infinity Pvt. Ltd (general secretary), Amith Nayak of Archana Projects (joint secretary), Nanda Kumar of Nanda Kumar Associates (joint secretary), Sudhir Shetty of Kirthi Constructions (treasurer) and Ranjan Kalkura of Kalkura Developers (PR coordinator).

During the ceremony Austin Roach, president, CREDAI Karnataka, Pushparaj Jain, vice president, CREDAI Karnataka, Hemanth, joint secretary, CREDAI Karnataka and D B Mehta, president CREDAI Mangaluru were present.
