Mangaluru: Vinayak Baliga murder - SC upholds bail granted to Naresh Shenoy

Mangaluru, Jul 15: The apex court has upheld the bail granted to Naresh Shenoy, main accused in the sensational murder case of RTI activist, Vinayak P Baliga. Baliga had been murdered near his residence on March 21, 2016 in the city.

The court said that the petitioner is free to approach high court seeking cancellation of bail granted to Shenoy if he violates bail conditions imposed by the state high court.

Slain Vinayak Baliga's father Ramachandra Baliga had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court (SC), expressing the apprehension that Naresh Shenoy's release might enable him to influence witnesses in the case. Therefore, he had sought cancellation of bail granted to Shenoy.

The two-member bench of the SC comprising Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel and Justice Uday Lalit observed that it has been ten months since the accused had secured bail. It also said that no incidents in which he had influenced the witnesses have come forth so far.

    sad that Late. Vinayak Baliga is not getting justice.
    Murder accused might be free by influence and money, but he wont be free from the curse from Baliga family. Their tears will surely pay him

    Sir, To make long story short, 'I BELIEVE IN CONSTITUTION OF INDIA DRAFTED BY FATHER OF CONSTITUTION DR.AMBEDKAR'.
    I strongly believe today's Judgement is biased and it is politically influenced.

    When NAMO founder came out of bail from jail in RTI activist murder local MP is the first among them to receive. Apart from this murder accused organised big 'havana' for his release which is too attended by the MP who threatened burn his own constituency.

    His prosecution may certainly dented the political image of Prime Minister whom he contributed extensively during 2014 Lok Sabha elections through his social media. It may have also changed entire political equations of the BJP's political fortune in three districts which he his directly associated.The proper investigation may have also busted the Sangh Parivar activities.

    For this reason BJP has provided full judicial backing by granting him bail at the earliest without taking lie detecting test. He was also known to be frontrunner for BJP tickets making his debut. From the inner circle his name still one of potential candidate for the Mangalore constituency for the next assembly elections.
    In other hand local Congress leaders 'soft Hindutva' approach is one of the reason he has been granted bail.
    As I said earlier there is huge nexus between political, judicial, law enforcement and mutt heads. Mangalore need one honest officer like Late Hemant karkare and some tough stand of ruling elite with some sacrifice.
    This case certainly proves the influence of Sangh parivar corrupting the judicial process.

    Haven't u read of so many upright judges recusing themselves to hear certain cases??

    Look at the fate of justice Karnan who gave a long list of names and vociferously put allegations on the judiciary!!

    If one has the capacity to hire one of the top brained, highly paid, criminal lawyer then there is a very very high probability that the case becomes pusukaa!! And all know that "law is blind"!! So when a weak person is put up against a powerful one the outcome is obvious!!! Nothing more to comment!!

    It is very clear now that this man will get loose and be free once for all very soon. Money even wakes a dead person. Such is our judicial system and people themselves are corrupt for gaining few thousands. Sad, that its only in india it take years to punish a convict, even though if there is sufficient proof.

    So VHP, RSS,Bajrang Dal o swamijis will protest about Mr.Baliga's unfortunate death. He was about to expose alot of misuse of funds in a big tenple in Mangalore, had filed RTI petitions against a well know school in kodialbail who's owner is a big Sangh parivar leader so obviously communal card doesnt play here. Always money comes first, then rest evrything. It was a shame to see about 100 people gathered infront of the jail near Canara college when this fellow walked out after getting a bail. People were waiting with garlands, this is what people have come to. Shameless existence.

Murder is a murder, irrespective of which caste person . it was duty of your so called intelligent Mangalore people to do protest and get justice if required.

    So easy isn't it to sit there in Abu Dhabi and be a keyboard warrior. I have been part of 4 protests that happened in Mangalore on various occasions bud, what did you do apart from sitting in your AC cabin and typing comments on Daijiworld? Whateevr I said was the actual truth that's existing here. Not one group came forward to protest about the murder cos they very well know who is behind it. Isn't Mr.Baliga a victim as well? Doesn't he have a family dependant on him as well? When hatred can't be spilled and used against someone none of these groups come forward.. None..
