Mangaluru: Catholic community meets DGP Dutta, requests formation of peace committees

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jul 14: A delegation of Catholic community in Mangaluru diocese led by M P Noronha, secretary of diocesan pastoral parishad, visited state director general of police Roopak Kumar Dutta and requested him to take measures to ensure peace and harmony in Dakshina Kannada district.

The delegation requested to form peace committees in district, taluk and rural levels consisting of community members who have control over the community and able to work with statutory powers.

"The intelligence department should be made active and an undertaking should be taken in writing as per columns between 106 to 110 of criminal procedure code as a precaution from suspects who are likely to spoil peace in the society. If local police officers are appointed in police stations, it will help them maintain good rapport in the area. Therefore, local people should be given priority while filling vacant positions in the police department. Similarly, if strict action is taken against those who send provocative messages ignoring their political connections, it will be conducive for Mangaluru to grow as a smart city," they said.

Police ADGP Alok Mohan, Dakshina Kannada district SP T R Suresh, diocese citizen committee convener Fr J B Crasta, public relations officer Fr William Menezes, Father Muller Medical College director Fr Richard Coelho, Catholic national parishad members Sushil Noronha and Prof Edward D'Silva, Catholic Sabha president Anil Lobo, diocese media advisor E Fernandes, working committee members Hilda Alva, Elizabeth Roche and Shalet Pinto were present.

As long as we are divided into Christians, Muslims and Hindus, peace will be far.

At least, the delegation should have included people from other religion too and should have gone to meet DGP as a delegation of PEOPLE OF MANGALORE!

Real ambassadors of India. This is what India need. Divide and rule based on caste system or crying only minorities all the time is not a good idea. Move for betterment of India and make India great again is the agenda every indian should have. Keep religion aside always and make India a democratic peaceful and secular nation without bias. All fantastic groups make India difficult to live in peace. So much attacks on Christians churches happend but Christians always maintained peace without attacks the way what is happening now. God is great.pray for peace

When stomach is empty & feels hungry every one will be busy in finding food or ways to earn food. Now Government is feeding unproductive population with tax payers money by distributing free / 1rupee rice.. now these peoples are busy in finding ways to digest, and thinking about disturbing others peace.
Make peoples feel hungry everything will come under control & co- operation will start automatically.

It takes lot of courage and guts to fight for love, peace and tolerance than a coward who massacres innocent defenceless ordinary people and hails himself as a hero. Disgusting and disastrous.
