Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 12: The city crime branch (CCB) police on Wednesday July 12 arrested four persons in connection to the attack on a tempo driver at Azad Nagar in Ullal on Tuesday July 11.

Austin Monteiro (28), son of Lawrence Monteiro, a resident of Uliya, was attacked by a group in an incident of road rage.

The CCB police have arrested Jalal alias Jalaluddin (28), a resident of Melangady, Ullal, Arfan alias Appu (25), a residen of Someshwar, Jafar Sadik (20), a resident of TC Road, Ullal, and Muzzambil (22) of Talapady.

As per the complaint filed in Ullal police station, on July 11, Austin Nitin Monteiro had parked his tempo rickshaw at Azad Nagar and was unloading mud. A black car with four occupants came towards him and demanded that he move his tempo. They parked their car in front of the tempo and assaulted him with bare hands. They then took a knife that was in their car and attacked him. They also tried to stab on the chest but luckily Austin managed to escape. An injured Austin then got admitted to a hospital in Ullal.

The CCB police who took up the investigation collected information about the black car and found that the accused had escaped to Mysuru. Based on the information, the police intercepted the car near Kallugundi in Sullia and arrested the accused.

The accused, their black Alto car used in the crime, and also another Alto car used for the getaway have been taken into custody and handed over to Ullal police for further investigation.

The arrest operation was conducted on the orders of police commissioner T R Suresh, and under the directions of DCPs Shantharaju and Hanumantharaya. The team was guided by ACP Valentine D'Souza, and led by CCB inspector Sunil Y Naik.

Police knows the murderer of Sharath. However, since the murderer is an insider with ulterior motive, police can not arrest him. If he is arrested, the truth will be exposed and the biggest venom filled snake will be in deep trouble. People can stoop any low to avoid arrest by planning trouble between religions. It doesn't matter whether the sacrificial goat is from their own group.

I have don't have an iota of doubt nor hesitation to be on the side of good and law abiding citizens. All of us then remove and properly treat these type of cancerous people and their activities from our society which is cropping up lately in our country. I know I will not live longer, but if good citizens and law does not do its proper duties, then our country will gradually slip into become a rouge society of lawlessness... like mob lynching, political conspiracy, goondaism, least respect for human life etc etc.... Thank God I lived in a society and country full of wonderful people who love being a unique Indian staunchly believing in unity in diversity. Best wishes to my younger generation for good life and peace.
