ADGP Alok Mohan arrives in Mangaluru : Section 144 to continue in district till Jul 21

Mangaluru, Jul 12: Through an order, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Dr K G Jagadeesh, has extended prohibitory orders under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code from midnight on July 11 to midnight on July 21. These orders will be in force in entire Dakshina Kannada district except the limits of the city police commissionerate here.

As such, the order will cover Bantwal, Puttur, Sullia and Beltangady taluks. During the said period, gathering of five or more persons, crowding around public places, public buildings, government offices etc will remain banned. Carrying of weapons including knives, cudgels, batons and such other things which can be used to inflict physical harm has been banned. No public processions, public meetings, functions etc can be organized. Having explosives and such other materials, putting together stones, usage of any other weapons etc also have been banned during the extended period.

In the meanwhile, additional director general of police (ADGP), Alok Mohan, and intelligence ADGP, Amrit Pal, have arrived in the city on Tuesday. They held prolonged consultation with western range inspector general of police, Hrishekaran, city police commissioner, T R Suresh, district superintendent of police, Sudheeer Reddy, deputy commissioners of police, Shantharaju and Hanumantharaya and other high level officials about the current situation in the district and security measures. Alok Mohan is scheduled to visit B C Road to study law and order situation there today.

In the meanwhile, Bantwal police arrested four persons in connection with stone pelting incident during the funeral procession of Sharath. The arrested persons are Suraksha Pramukh of Bajrang Dal, Santosh Attavar, leader of Hindu Jagran Vedike, Sanjeeva, as well as Sandeep and Prashanth. With this, the total arrests relating to this incident has risen to 17. Police personnel had raided residences of Satyajit Suratkal, Sharan Pumpwell, Harish Punja and Pradeep on Tuesday too. Sources in the department said that efforts to locate these persons are continuing.

    Dons from Mumbai came and settled in DK started their own Yuvasena for this kind of unrest police eliminated from grassroots after giving several warnings.
    I don't think Pump-well or Bore-well is big deal for our police.

    It is shame on police Department with influence of Congies arresting wrong persons, stone pelting chaddiless are hiding and no action on them.

    Karnataka is turning as Kolkatta, same situation , same mentality.

    The blind Pappus comments blindly without any base.

    It is right time to apply President rule in Karnataka.

    Alok mohan should should start planning transfer of police personnel those who are working more than 2 years in mangalore police station. Because of these police men secret information are leaked to culprits which helps them to flee easily.
    Seems fishy when Satyajith and pumpwel were not there in their residence when police raided.
