Mangaluru: BJP Yuva Morcha to protest against charges levelled on Hindu leaders

Mangaluru, Jul 11: "The BJP Yuva Morcha strongly condemns the charges made against various leaders of the Hindu organization under section 307 and demands that the government withdraw the charges meted out against them. If that does not happen, then the Yuva Morcha and other Hindu organizations will carry out severe protests," warned Sandesh Shetty, district president, BJP Yuva Morcha on Tuesday July 11.

Addressing the media, Sandesh said that there have been no changes in the situation even after the implementation of Sec 144 of IPC. Terming the stone pelters as ‘Dushkarmigalu’ (perpetrators) he blamed the police for not arresting them for pelting stones during the funeral procession. “The district in-charge who was supposed to call for a peaceful settlement, is making statements against the leaders of the Hindu organizations and getting them arrested knowing that it will cause even more clashes,” he said.

He further said, "Chief minister Siddaramaiah has been irresponsible in this matter. Section 144 was revoked during their rally for their party's benefits. “Siddaramaiah did not become chief minister with just the votes of the minority community alone, but majority of Hindus have voted for him as well. That makes him responsible to treat all communities equally. He cannot abhor and suppress the Hindu community,” he alleged. "Siddaramaiah has also ordered the police to take strict action on the Hindu activists and leaders. Due to this, a fearful atmosphere has been created among the Hindu activists. The Yuva Morcha will furiously fight against this. The government will be held responsible in the event of any mishap occurring."

"Section 144 has been a great inconvenience among the people," he said. "The BJP Yuva Morcha and the Hindu organizations are strongly against this and they too will fight back with vengeance for their rights."

Harish Mudushedde, Rakshith Kottari, Sandeep Shetty, Nandan Mallya, Kishore Babu, Sudarshan and Varun Chowta were also present.
