Mangaluru, Jul 10: Even as the city and surrounding places are in the grip of communal unrest with incidents like stabbing, murder, stone pelting and assault being reported here and there, and police are on tenterhooks to manage the situation, five incidents that are listed below have held high the eternal truth that humanitarian aid and communal harmony have the potential of becoming the paramount elixir that can heal everything and soothe the agitated nerves.

In first such incident, Bhavani Shetty (55), residing at Saripalla Road in Alape in the city, is very sick. She lives alone as her husband and only son are no more. Her thatched hut does not have power supply or toilet facility. A team of volunteers visited her home and promised to provide the old lady toilet to provide her relief from daily struggle.

Aithappa (44), a member of Koraga community living behind Divyajyothi school at Vamanjoor here, has been bedridden since the last seven years. He cannot do anything including moving about on his own. A family member has been taking care of him. kind-hearted souls who met him assured him that it would be their responsibility to provide medicines as long as he needs them.

The third incident pertains to Mohini, resident of Kettikal, Iruvail. Mohini lives with mother and four sisters, and life has not been kind to her. She has been facing lot of difficulties. Three of the sisters are suffering from ill health and all the family members are under constant worry about their future. The team which met the family has conveyed to them their decision to supply provisions needed by the family every month for a year.

Veronica D'Silva lives at Shivanagara in Moodushedde with her husband. The couple does not have children. Their small hut has no power connection. The volunteers met them and decided to arrange for power supply to the family.

Piad Crasta from Vamanjur Adarshanagara is a widow. Her only son, who is 40, is ill. The team has decided to supply food items to the family which lives in a small shed, every month.

The team comprising Muslim members of Hidaya Foundation visited three Hindu and two Christian families on a single day as above and responded on the spot to their needs. The city team of Hidaya Foundation is led by its president, Muhammed Haneef Haji Goltamajalu, with Asif Deals Jubail, Basheer T K Farangipet and Abdul Razack Anantady as members. Lilly Mary of Dharmajyoti Social organization, Vamajur had informed the team about the travails if these five families and thus becoming a part of their social service initiative.

A team of Muslims, by extending hand of help to Hindu and Christian families with the support of a Christian woman has heralded a new era of hope in the communally sensitive Karnataka coast.

Hidaya Foundation team, which has been extending help to families facing problems since the last six to seven years without considering the religious affiliation of the concerned, has Hidaya Colony at Kavalakatte. In a five-acre colony, the foundation has provided houses to 60 widows and helped them to become self reliant. It also has opened school for physically challenged children and helped thousands of people suffering from ill health. It has been providing ration items every month to 285 families belonging to Islam and other religions.

Hidaya Foundation is being run by people backed by a conscience throbbing for social harmony and humanitarian values. It is drawing support from Muslim non-resident Indians from the coast. Under the banner of Hidaya Foundation, they are working to win over hearts. Hidaya has been driving a sense of despair away from the lives of people. We hope it will continue to do so forever.

Great gesture, hatred can be doused only by love and humanity.
Hatred Mills are doing over time in our coastal districts!
Fire can be doused only by water, though fire looks so ferocious in front of water, it can't resist the power of water !

In this era of paid new and social media of Photoshop photos and fake videos it is difficult to find few lines of such humanity. I appreciate Dajiworld.com for bringing forward the reality of destitute people and the organisation behind the human cause.
I request you to continue the pluralism of true journalism by adding these kind of news for your future publications.I also request to provide the address of such organization where our small contribution can make different to the needy people.

Excellent approach amidst so much of communal division and communal unrest. These are role models and The Government should make a note of this humanitarian job and duly reward the good people. Perhaps during any festive occasion these good people should be honoured.

For all the hate mongers, especially BD,RS, HJV and what not.. learn from this. You may smell a cow in closed truck but not a ailing and needy around you. Your contribution to your own community is ZERO and call yourself as patriots. Wake up guys.. You still have time and together we can make peaceful Nation.

    Teachings of Islam.
ensure that our neighbors have the basic necessities, for a Muslim should not eat if his or her neighbor is going hungry ir respective of religion. It means that Muslims should wish for their neighbors what they wish for themselves. It means sharing their happiness and sorrow. Further, it means to not spy on them and respect their privacy, to not gossip about them, to not harm them in any way, and to keep common use areas - such as apartment building entrances, streets and sidewalks - clean.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was told of a woman who prayed during night and fasted a lot during day and gave alms generously, but whose neighbors complained of her abusive tongue. He said that she would be in Hellfire. When Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was told of another woman who did not do all those extra acts of worship other than just compulsory (Wajib) but whose neighbors were happy with her, he said that she would be in Paradise. Thus we see the importance of being good to our neighbors, both in actions and words.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the rights of the neighbour, said: "It is to help him if he asks your help, to lend him if he asks to borrow from you, to satisfy his needs if he becomes poor, to console him if he is visited by an affliction, to congratulate him if is met with good fortune, to visit him if he becomes ill, to attend his funeral if he dies, not to make your house higher than his without his consent lest you deny him the breeze, to offer him fruit when you buy some or to take it to your home secretly if you do not do that, nor to send out your children with it so as not to upset his children, nor to bother him by the tempting smell of your food unless you send him some."
The best of companions with Allah is the one who is best to his companions and the best of neighbours to Allah is the one who is the best of them to his neighbour."

ADs! The good that Hidaya Foundation does for disabled & less fortunate are noteworthy & newsworthy. The minority communities in Karnataka and elsewhere in India quietly provide Food and Shelter to the less privileged. Lately the Right Wing Activists and Religious Fanatics have been in the forefront agitating : Their Reason that a sane person cannot comprehend is that WE do it to gain
CONVERSIONS! Hundreds of Charitable Institutions that provide shelter, medical care, social services
are constantly harassed by the Activists for the WRONG REASON. By doing so they deny their own
people the generosity of the minorities!
I say lets play these GOOD DEEDS up and show the majority community that WE MEAN WELL. Lets
encourage them to provide such humanitarian needs to their and other communities rather spewing
    hate and discord.

    Dear all,

Preachers cannot do this work in any of the community, they are busy either in preaching or collecting money for some projects. Layman like you and me who understand the pain of others should come forward and help the poor.

Oh Shankara.......... Why r saying other groups shld learn seeing the RSS... RSS should see and learn from dat organisation.....
We know very well what RSS teaches.... FYI kindly read RSS leader Golvakar autobiography.... U will see RSS view towards other religions....
I can give u so many RSS written books... Where it's spreads so much harted to other religions....
Dnt compare this work with RSS work...
Instead u can compare RSS with ISIS, Boko haram, Al Qaeda, LeT and so on......
Difference is those terrorists groups have weapons and dey carry sucide attack...
But RSS only acts as a spark plug in ignition....
