Mangaluru, Jul 7: Veena Jain, a native from here, has come out victorious in the global level Mrs Globe Classic pageant held by Mrs Globe company at Los Vegas, USA, between June 19 and 25 this year.

Addressing a press conference at Bengaluru on Thursday July 6, Veena explained that this contest is being held annually since 1996 for the women aged between 42 and 55. She shared her glee at the fact that she happens to be the first ever contestant to have entered this pageant from India, and winning it.

"In the section pertaining to clothes unique to their respective nations, I had worn a green sari. This had succeeded in winning lot of attention. Representatives of about 50 countries including Mexico, Australia, Austria, Japan, Canada, China, South Africa and Philippines had taken part in the contest. After several gruelling rounds, I succeeded finally in overcoming tough competition and winning the event," she stated.

Veena had taken part in the Mrs Glob contest held in India last year and had annexed the title. As a result she got the right to participate in the universal Mrs Globe Classic contest, she explained.
