Udupi: We respect Pejawar Swamiji, but Namaz offered in Math hurt us: Sri Rama Sene

Udupi, Jun 30: Mohan Bhat, secretary of Sri Rama Sene, Mangaluru on Friday June 30 strongly condemned Muslims offering Namaz in the dining hall of Sri Krishna Math as part of the recent Iftar get-together hosted by the Math led by Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji and said that his outfit will hold a peaceful protest on July 2 in association with Hindu Jana Jagruthi Samiti.

Addressing a press meet here, Mohan Bhat said, "The protest will be held by offering puja and prayers to Lord Krishna's effigy. The puja will be performed seeking the blessings of Lord Krishna and praying that such incidents should never repeat in future in the Math premises.

"Our feelings are hurt only because of the fact that Namaz was offered in the Sri Krishna Math. If the Swamiji had conducted just a get-together instead of Iftar, we would have had no objection. Our symbolic protest will not damage the dignity of Sri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji," he said.

Mohan Bhat further clarified that the Sri Rama Sene does not want go against Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji and the manner of protest is left to the respective district SRS committee. "We have been brought up under his guidance since childhood. I have never generalized that all Muslims eat beef. But there are certain restrictions in the Hindu community. According to us, Hindus who eat beef are not fit to be Hindus.

"We have a good relationship with the Math. The protest meet is a symbolic one," Bhat added.

"Math polluted by Namaz, should be cleansed with cow urine"

Vijay Kumar, convenor of Hindu Jana Jagruthi said, "The Iftar Koota has hurt many Hindus. The dining room where Namaz was offered by Muslims and the premises have been polluted and become impure. The hall in which Namaz was offered should be cleaned using cow dung and cow urine. Moreover, Pejawar Swamiji should apologize to the Hindus for hurting our feelings.

"Hindu Jana Jagruthi samithi will support peaceful protest of Sri Rama Sene and will also hold a separate protest meet to condemn Iftar Koota. The protest venue is yet to be fixed and the leaders will take a collective decision," he added.

On Vivek Handemani, who allegedly insulted Pejawar Swamiji in social media being a member of a right-wing outfit, Mohan Bhat said, "If he is truly a member of any Hindu outfit, we will not allow him to continue his membership."

Dinesh Pangala, district president, SRS, Dinesh, member, Hindu Jana Jagruthi, Jayaram Ambekal, SRS leader, Dinesh Nayak were present.

I am a Hindu, I wanted to make sure my comments are viewed in the right spirit,

Mohan Bhat, Secretary of Rama Sene????? The very fact that this organization is represented by a person who thinks like this shows the problems with it. I think this organization and Mr Bhat take the word "Sene" or army seriously and think they are protectors of Lords Rama and Krishna. I would not worship Gods Rama and Krishna if they need protection by these weak minded individuals. When will these people learn that religion is a tool for development within and not to use it to hate others.

Throughout history mankind has paid the price dearly for the bigotry of a few narrow minded people and due especially those who are "leaders", Hitler being the supreme example. So before this Bhat gets to far with his bigotry he must be dealt with. If this organization had any sense, they will remove him and say they look forward to next year's celebration of the holy Ramadhan in the temple again.

I, knew it. I knew it. Just 6 Agree and twice as much disagree.

When Muslims offer namaz in the temple, there is nothing wrong and most people are praising the Swami and the Hindu people for their tolerance, but when it is the other way around when Hindus ask, just ask, not actually perform pooja they are in disagreement.

All through the centuries only one side gave and gave and the other side took and took and continues to take. One side practices tolerance and the other side - Zero tolerance. Wah, re Wah now I understand the true meaning of tolerance.

Satyameva Jayate - Let Truth Prevail.

These people can't recite one Sanskrit shloka from Hindu scripture misusing Lord Rama to run their business like its Parent elite RSS used to collect brick to build temple.
It is very frequent to see them in Press club meet and Dharna rather than temples. As long as their patriotism to the nation it is already proved Sindagi in Bidar when they hoisted Pakistani flag in Indian soil.
Pejawar Swamiji's small step in the need of the hour when nation is bickering in communal tension.
SRS members need more 'shudhi' of their hearts rather than purifying the Pejawar mutt.

Who will make certain dumb people to understand that namaaz is a prayer to Almighty God ? If these dumb feel are hurt by prayer offered to God and wants to purify the place with COW URINE, we should really feel pity for them and pray for them. Ask these protectors of Hindu religion to speak at least on single paragraph of Hindu religious books and see their knowledge on peace loving, peace preaching great Hindu religion. To be true, such dumb, illiterate people spoil the image of Hinduism. One should truly appreciate the great efforts of Pejawar Swamiji for promoting peaceful co-existence of different religions which politically motivated evil leaders oppose fearing they will lose their grip on peoples' mentality.

    Don't worry SRS..

Come shivratri , navratri and we will look forward to equal reciprocation in exact same way like swamiji did..

The elders there also will show to the world that too are equally generous by inviting hindus to worship durga, shiva inside the premises.. and not just offering juice bottles.

Such warmth will surely build communal harmony..Afterall generosity has to be multi sided not just from hindus..

While I respect everyone's religious sentiments, I have a question " Would a mosque allow Hindus to do Pooja's in their mosque?" If the answer is a strong "YES", then let's do it to show the whole world the great religious tolerance we have in India and Mangalore in particular.

To show peace and harmony its not required to show off in front of everybody. It should be in your Heart. We or any other religion don't need to show it off. Still for your information go to Ullal Dargah, Katapady Dargah and many more to name Hindus are allowed inside to pray. Don't spread hatred.

It will hurt you as long as you have communal heart in you. It hurts you because it's a question of your survival and nothing else. As long as communal disharmony is there you have your bread and butter. There is no problem whatsoever having Ifthar party in each other's holy places provided your heart is clean. It is much better than having a get together of its own people.

If need be, these kind of items should all be clubbed together and put in a corner with one sentence for each item. On June 13th 2017 A cathedral in Al Ain has opened the doors of its parish hall for Maghrib prayer and iftar feast in the true spirit of religious tolerance and brotherhood. The parish hall of St George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Simhasana Cathedral in Al Ain resonated with the Holy versus of Quran on Friday, June 9 when an Imam led the Magrib prayers.

June 30th 2016 WASHINGTON -- Next Tuesday marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month. At a time when religions are so often in conflict with each other, a house of worship in Washington D.C. stands out as a place of unity.
Every Friday inside a historic church, there is a call to prayer -- answered by hundreds of Muslims, surrounded by Christian icons. Two religions sharing the same space.

We have high respect for churches and mosques. That does not mean people opt to pray there instead of our temples.First understand the sensibility of the issue. Many chiristians,Muslims visit temples individually to offer prayer but prayer or namaz by groups not seen so far in the main complex.
