Udupi: Astro Mohan bags FICS by Image Colleague Society International, USA

Media Release

Udupi, Jun 29: Astro Mohan, senior news photographer of Udayavani was awarded the Fellowship of the ICS by the Image Colleague Society International, USA, a distinct international organisation in the field of Photography, recently.

He will receive the award from dignitaries at the Honor FICS awards convention, at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada, on Saturday, July 1, at 10 am.

The award that would be handed over at the special photographic convention would authentically qualify Astro Mohan to add it after his name.

Astro Mohan has been working with Udayavani for the last 20 years and has won several national and international prizes from reputed photographic organizations such as the Royal Photographic Society, United Kingdom, Paris-based International Federation of Photographic Art, Photographic Society of America and a UNICEF award in his career spanning close to two and half decades.

The ICS grand jury was impressed upon the qualitative and erudite panel of his images sent along with the application.

"With your studious professionalism, you, being experienced professional pictorial photographer, are able to maintain the concealed theme and subtle philosophy in your scenic work. It is definitely a rare opportunity for ICS to choose your entry, which was one among many applications received all over the world this year. This honour will be sent to you through our Indian representative T Srinivasa Reddy," said a letter by the ICS.

The distinction was made by the Board of Directors of the Image Colleague Society, as a privilege, who thereby invited Astro Mohan  to participate in all International Salons of Photography, recognised by ICS, FIAP, RPS and PSA.
