Mangaluru: R P Naik appointed president of Konkani Sahitya Academy

Mangaluru, Jun 25: R P Naik, from Dandeli in Uttara Kannada district, has been appointed as president of Konkani Sahitya Academy by the state government.

The post has been vacant since the term of past president Roy Castelino ended recently.

R P Naik is a committed Konkani worker. He was actively involved when several programmes were held in Uttara Kannada district as part of statewide Konkani events initiated by academy during the term of Roy Castelino.

Konkani Sahitya Academy has its headquarters in Mangaluru city and is involved in promotion of Konkani language and heritage in the state.
