Mangaluru: Coastalwood's most expensive song to feature in 'Pettkammi'

Mangaluru, Jun 25: Tulu film 'Pettkammi' that ran into controversy due to its poster some months ago, is in news yet again.

The film has recorded the most expensive song in the history of Coastalwood. Besides expenditure, the recording took two months.

A background singer from Sandalwood was initially booked for the song. But later in order to give a chance to new talents, the singer was left out. The cost has gone up while encouraging coastal talents. Film producer Ashok Shetty said that a minimum of two months were spent for the song. 'Pettkammi' is being produced by Ashok Shetty and Sunil Shetty. The film will be released under Malgudi Talkies banner.

A programme titled 'Voice for Pettkammi' was held a month ago. Aspiring singers were asked to sing 'Popunda Popunda', a Tulu song, and sent it via email. Eight people among hundreds were short listed. One person among them was selected for singing the song in 'Pettkammi'.
