A less controversial candidate could have been a better choice as prospective first citizen of the country. Many has not forgotten the details revealed by Directorate of Estates about the Rs 2 crore bill served to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar for defaulting on rent for the unauthorised occupation of government bungalow at 6, KM Marg. RTI application by Subhash Chandra Agrawal has revealed that Ms Kumar had defied court order for 19 months, which directed her to vacate the bungalow. The court dismissed her appeal and gave her time to vacate the bungalow by 31st March 1990. Subsequently, the Cabinet Committee dubiously approved allotment of bungalow no. 6 at KM Marg in the name of late Indrani Devi with effect from 25th March 1990. However, Indrani Devi’s allotment was cancelled on 14th May 2002, one month after she expired. Efforts for evictions were started once again, but failed. When she was appointed Speaker, she was allotted another bungalow on Akbar Road. Though Cabinet decided on a complete ban on conversion of government bungalows to memorial sites, this bungalow housed Jagjivan Ram memorial. Ceasor's wife should be above suspicion. Congress has not changed and will not change!

Her father, Jagjivan Ram was an opportunist. He remained silent during emergency days, but deserted Congress soon after elections were announced in 1977 and formed his own Congress for Democracy and later joined the Janata Govt. under Morarji Desai. This is how he became one of the longest serving cabinet ministers from the tenures of Nehru to Morarji Desai.

Huchcha Venkat is very famous.May be he is right candidate for you.So people working silently have no value. It is very easy for privilged people to come up like
IAS son IAS ,PMs son PM etc..A poor farmer's son came up by hard work ,has no value? you need not be famous to become President. But the character and integrity of the person is important and Kovind fits into that perfectly.Anyways the election is namesake and formality now.Meirakumar is scapegoat. If She is meritorious ,she should have been president 10 yera ago.Why not then?

..they know its a symbolic election, then why so much time they taken!!..its nonsense to say, let first Govt pick candidate then we will!!..if Govt picks Dalit, we will pick same, if Govt picks OBC,Minority then we will do the same..now Congress did the same, they chosen a Dalit..if they decided earlier, Nitish would have been a fix since she also from Bihar..but now Nitish already announced support..Congress just plays plain politics in everything..
