Udupi, Jun 22: A student, who had passed the second PU examination this year, ended his life on Tuesday June 20. He hanged himself in his hostel room at Karamballi near Manipal.

The victim was Nagaraj, son of Kallappa and Leelavathi couple from Koppal district. He used a cloth to make a noose and hanged himself from the wooden beams of the tiled roof.

As per information, Nagaraj had passed second PU in first class this year. It is suspected that he was bothered by the confusion about which subjects to choose for better future and poverty of his family to fund his education. In a death note left behind, he sought apologies from his parents for committing this act. He said that he is unwell and unintelligent and asked his parents not to mourn his death. He has further requested the relatives of the family to extend financial assistance to his parents.
