Mangaluru, Jun 21: Defending district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress president Mithun Rai on Wednesday June 21 said that Youth Congress supports the minister's purported instructions to the district superintendent of police to arrest Kallladka Prabhakar Bhat.
Addressing mediapersons he said, "The instructions given by minister Ramanath Rai to the district superintendent of police (SP) to arrest Kallladka Prabhakar Bhat is cent percent correct. In the video it is very clear that Rai did not instruct the SP to arrest Bhat over the recent Kalladka incidents, but to arrest him in future if he engages in hate speech. Bhat is famous for his hate speeches. We, the members of Youth Congress stand in support of Rai.
"In YouTube, you will find numerous videos of Bhat giving inflammatory speeches. If anybody shows me even one of his speeches praising communal harmony between Muslims and Christians, I am ready to quit politics," he said.
"In his entire political career, Rai was never part of communal politics. He has always given priority to humanity. In his view, every religion is equal with values of humanity and teachings for peaceful life. Being a peace lover, his enemies have increased, especially from communal forces. But these forces cannot defeat Rai," he added.
"Bhat has been surviving only on the mileage of hate speeches. He and his companions like BJP and the Sangh Privar are not followers of the actual Hindu religion. They are misusing the people for votes and personal gain. They are supporting criminals like Mithun Poojary and Bhuvith Shetty who were active in disturbing communal harmony. Considering Bhat as a Hindu leader is wrong as he is not a leader of Hindus. He is leader of RSS. If he was a real Hindu, why was he silent on the murders of Vinayaka Baliga and Harish Poojary?" he questioned.
"Someone from Mandya, claiming himself as a Bajrang Dal leader stated that he was ready to break Rai’s hands and legs. We, Youth Congress of Dakshina Kannada will handle him with the help of law. We are going to file a case against him at all police stations of Dakshina Kannada," he concluded.
