Kasargod, Jun 20: Relating to an attempt made on the life of Raju alias Rajesh (28) from Majal in Mogralputtur in the district recently, the police have arrested three accused. Rajesh was returning home after attending to his work of erecting Shamiana for a function late night, when a car had knocked him down in an attempt to kill him. The arrests were made by the personnel of the town police station here.

The arrested accused have been identified as P A Khaisal (28), resident of Anangur Tipunagar, K Habb Rahman alias Karutta Habib (21) from TV Station road, Anangur, and T A Tajuddin (25) from Azad Nagar, Koodlu Chowki. The police said that another accused, Rifai Sitti (26), who was earlier residing at Bandyodu and currently living at Talangare, has been absconding.

The gang had followed Rajesh's scooter before hitting his two-wheeler with their vehicle at Periyadka Arasikere within the limits of Mogralputtur. After he fell down, they had attacked Rajesh with lethal weapons. When a police patrol party came there hearing wails of Rajesh, the attackers had fled.

The arrests were made by a team of police personnel led by town station circle inspector of police, Abdul Rahim, and principal sub-inspector, K Ajit Kumar.
