Madikeri: Three held for celebrating Pakistan cricket victory

Madikeri, Jun 20: Police personnel of Suntikoppa station in Kodagu district arrested three persons on Monday June 19. They have been accused of bursting crackers and raising slogans hailing Pakistan's victory over India in the Champions Trophy final.

The arrested men are Riaz, son of Kunhikutty, vice president of seventh Hoskote gram panchayat, Sammad and Zabir. The fourth accused in the case, Muneer, is absconding. It is said that these four had come together at seventh Hoskote junction as soon as Pakistan became victorious in the said match and hailed Pakistan's victory besides bursting crackers.

In the meanwhile, another person was arrested from Savanur. He is one among a few youngsters who came together, burst crackers and celebrated Pakistan's victory on Sunday night. The arrested person was Ahmed Mustaq Ahmed Bijapoori.
