Panaji: ‘Governments misusing temple donations’

Panaji, Jun 19 (TOI): Hindutva organizations have accused the central and state governments of misusing donations coming into various temples across the country. Speaking on the concluding day of the sixth all India Hindu convention, Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad, member, advocate Amrutesh N P said that his organization has received information through RTI that temple funds are being misappropriated.

"We have documents regarding the amount that comes in as donations versus the expenditure of many temples. The temple committees are constituted of people who are decided by the government. At the Siddhivinayak temple, a portion of money meant to be distributed among the poor is being shared with Muslims as well. This is a misuse of donations made by Hindus to the temples," he said.
