MP alleges Jet Airways flt departed without taking him onboard

Mumbai, Jun 14 (PTI): Lok Sabha MP Raju Shetti, leader of Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna which is an ally of BJP, today alleged that the Jet Airways flight which he was suppose to board left for Delhi without taking him onboard.

Shetti also claimed that he was forced to shell out an additional Rs 2,000 for an alternative flight.

"I was at T2 (terminal 2) of Mumbai airport for my morning flight to Delhi. It was necessary for me to board the flight. I was waiting at the lounge with my boarding pass.

"After sometime I realised that the boarding doors are closed. When I enquired, I was told that my flight had taken off," Shetti claimed.

Jet Airways did not respond to the queries sent by PTI on the issue.

Shetti alleged that, "Surprisingly, Jet Airways knew that I was travelling and despite being a people's representative, no one informed me about the boarding doors being closed. When I asked for a ticket on the next flight, I received a rude response."

"I had to pay Rs 2,000 extra when it was not even my fault. I am going to raise this issue before the Ministry of Civil Aviation," said the MP from Hatkanangle constituency in Kolhapur.

Jet Airways did the right thing. The MP should have know better about the timings of the flight. He is not travelling for the first time and he is not an ordinary Joe who gets confused when travelling on airlines.

It is the audacity of some people who think they are VIP and other should bow down to them. I consider that it is an insult to other passengers if the airlines don't treat everyone equally. There are instances that the flights were kept on hold because these so called VIPs are arriving late to the airport due to the hang over of previous night's orgy.

The Airlines are already fedup with this type of menaces ,they just don't know what to do with them. Do the need any special treatment?

I think he was waiting in the VIP Lounge until some one came and took him along carrying his hand luggage. When flights are not announced on loud speaker this can happen.

First of all have you paid a single paisa for your ticket?. Even the additional payment of Rs 2000 you will claim it from the govt. Ordinary people are paying for your ticket by way of tax. Have some shame and observe the rules printed on the ticket for check-in time. Even your blind Bhakts really Blind to read the timing on the ticket for you. Now don't expect someone to carry you over inside the plane up to your seat. Disgusting.

it is surprising a peoples leader unaware that after getting the boarding pass he have to move
to lounge where entry to flight is situated. is he flying first time in the flight? moreover there is final call from the airlines staff for whom the boarding passes are issued. for his mistake blaming the airline is unjustified.

He must have thought it is government bus and will wait for 'people representative' although other passengers were on board who also have paid same amount of money as this 'people representative' paid. Such late comers should not be entertained at all. Well done Jet Airways.
