Mangaluru: Seeing people wait in rain, MLA Bava gets bus shelter built in two hours!

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 10: MLA of Mangaluru North Mohiuddin Bava on Saturday June 10 proved that when you have the will to do something good for the people, you will find a way too, and there is no time like the present to get it done.

In a gesture that won the appreciation of the locals, Mohiuddin Bava on Saturday got a temporary bus shelter constructed in Suratkal, in flat two hours!

The MLA was passing by Suratkal market area, when he saw people waiting to catch buses drenched and struggling in the pouring rains, with no proper shelter to protect them.

Bava swung into action and got necessary equipment required to construct a bus shelter, spending from his own pocket. He also got labourers and in a matter of just two hours, he had the shelter ready for use.

Bava inaugurated the bus shelter immediately after it was ready.

The people in the area were all praise for their MLA. The local auto drivers thanked and honoured Bava with garlands.

Corporator Pratibha Kulai was present.

Indeed Great job which needs to be appreciated. Our MCC authoritie would have taken more than a months time to build such shelters. this should be entered in Guinness World Record book.

Mr. Bava deserves kudos for his quick response to a very major problem which was being faced by the citizens, year in and out.

Hope many more such quick initiatives will be taken by our public representatives (including Babudom) to ameliorate the sufferings and difficulties being faced by our citizens.

Not only your electorate, but also God almighty, are going to appreciate and love you for your good work and humanitarian acts.

This shows how foolish the people of mangalore are!! Building a bus stand and fooling people for vote bank is the stunt... if at all he is true to his followers, then let him build a world class bus stand with proper planning and approvals and set an example like he bought his Audi for his extreme comfort.

As a local MLA, he should have had vision to see it before onset of monsoon. An adversity and god-sent opportunity utilized to full advantage. Damaged caused by distribution of notebooks to pollute young minds with ulterior motifs could be contained to certain extent.....!

This looks more of a publicity stunt.
Any fool can make out this bus stand will not resist even the milder force of rain and winds unless some support work taken up soon.
Was the MLA sleeping all the months before monsoon? If he had missed that there is no shelter for passengers, then he is not fit to be a MLA.

For many people here, building temporary bus stand is a biggest development work that a elected representative carried out. This shows how matured enough we are in judging our politicians work. Seventy years after independence still we are lacking basic public facilities in our cities and we are thinking about smart cities.
