Doha: Abdulla Monu Mohiddin re-elected president of KMCA

Doha, Jun 8 : The Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association convened its annual general body meeting followed by Iftar on Friday, June 2. The management committee of the past year was dissolved, and election for the new committee for the year was held.

The general body unanimously agreed for the current executive committee to continue the new term under the leadership of the community activist Abdulla Monu Mohiddin. Aisha Rafique was elected the vice president and Saquib Raza Khan, the general secretary.



    










































The AGM began with recitation of Holy Quran by Saeed Assadi. Niyaz Ahmed, past president, explained how the AGM would be conducted. President Abdullah Monu Mohiddin, welcomed the gathering and gave an insight on all that KMCA has achieved in the past year. He thanked the members for their support, and requested their further cooperation in conducting more events towards community service by KMCA. Saquib Raza Khan, general secretary presented the annual report, while Dr Masooda Ali, presented the report on the ladies' event. Fayaz Ahmed presented the annual financial report.

The office bearers of KMCA for the term 2017-2018 are Abdulla Monu Mohiddin, president, Aisha Rafique, vice president, Saquib Raza Khan, general secretary, Dana Asif, joint secretary, Ismail Aboobakker, cultural secretary, Fayaz Ahmed, treasurer.

Other positions appointed for 2017-2018 are Sarfaraz as sports secretary, Masooda Ibraiz as coordinator ladies wing, Aysha Abdulla as co-ordinator (public relations and Media), Ibraiz Khan as coordinator (special needs and social events), Zakir Ahmed as co-ordinator (logistics).

In addition to the above the president will appoint an advisory team to provide necessary guidance and vision for KMCA’s long term community goals.

On being elected for the second term, Abdullah Monu thanked the members for showing faith in him, and requested them to come up with ideas for giving quality service to the community.

It was followed by an Islamic lecture by prominent speaker Shiekh Asif, who is closely associated with Fanar, and has dedicated his time and efforts in conducting classes aimed towards understanding Quran in an easy way. This was followed by Dua by Ustad Hamad Abdul Rahman, who has dedicated his time and effort to help people read Quran correctly and understand it.

Around 300 people with their family participated in the Iftar.  ICC president Milan Arun, prominent Indian community member Hassan Choughale, M I Farid, Arvind Patil president of ICBF, Sinu Pillai vice president of ICC, Diwakar Poojary general secretary of ICC, Mahesh Gowda joint secretary of ICBF, Ravi Shetty president of Tulu Koota, H K Madhu president of KSQ, Navnit Shetty president of Bunts Qatar, Suhaib Ahmed president of SKMWA, Arun Kumar, Dr Sanjay Kudari, Subramanya Hebbegalu, Anil Boloor, and founder members of KMCA, Rafique Ahmed Saheb, Ibrahim Baery, and Abdulla Khatri were present among many others.

The compere of the event was Saquib Raza Khan. The event was coordinated by Ahmed Saeed Assadi.
