Mangaluru: Nammi Trust to hold state powerlifting competition on Jun 10, 11

Mangaluru, Jun 7: Among the many achievements, the people of Dakshina Kannada are experts in weightlifting.

Addressing media persons here, Thejomaya honorary president and promoter of Iron Games Promoters said, "In Karnataka, weightlifting tops the list. The Iron Games promoters are organising 43rd males and 35th females state senior powerlifting competition on June 10 and 11 at Town Hall at 10 am in memory of former president late V Krishnamoorthi Rao and late Ji Manjunath Kamath. More than 150 players will be participating in the competition. Food and accomodation for the competitors will be free."

15 people will be selected for the state team out of which eight are males and seven are females. It is organised by Nammi Trust which is a branch of Balanjaneya Gymnasium. The competition will be attended by more than 150 powerlifters.

Sathish Kumar Kudroli secretary of Karnataka Powerlifting Association, Thejomaya, Surendra Shenoy president of Iron Games Promoters, Purandara Dasa Kulur vice president Iran games promoters, Mithun Shetty of Iron Games Promoters, Vasanth Salian president of Balanjaneya Gym will also attend the competition.

Sathish Kumar Kudroli, secretary of Karnataka Powerlifting Assositation here, Thejomaya, Surendhra Shenoy , Purandara Dasa Kulur, Mithun Shetty secretary Iran games promoters, Vasanth Salian were present.
