Bengaluru: Union minister Piyush Goyal eats at Dalit house, says reservation will continue

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 7: Union energy minister, Piyush Goyal, asserted that the central government led by Narendra Modi has no proposal before it to shelve the policy of reservation for Dalits. He said that reservation policy of the government will continue as before.

Goyal was speaking after having breakfast in the house of a Dalit in Ambedkar Colony, Hongasandra, after unveiling the statue of Swami Vivekananda at Bommanahalli near here on Tuesday June 6.

Goyal initially had Chapathi, vegetable curry and Chitranna at the house of the late Madanagiriyappa, who was a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteer, and then tea at the house of Shankar.

In his address to the gathering, Goyal said that he had come here under instructions from the party's national president. "The food I had here was delicious. It is a memorable moment in my life. I visited this home as per BJP President Amit Shah's directive. I cannot forget the love and affection showered on me by my brothers and sisters of the village," he stated.

"Dalits need not worry about losing reservation benefits. The NDA government led by Narendra Modi will implement reservation for Dalits without fail," he said.

Goyal advised the Dalits to avail the benefits of welfare schemes launched by the government.

"I want all Dalits to have Aadhaar cards and open bank accounts to avail the benefits of welfare schemes," he said.

On this occasion, a cheque for Rs 1.5 lac issued by MLA, Satish Reddy, as financial assistance, was handed over to the family of Madanagiriyappa.

Speaking at the programme, 'Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikas' organized by the city unit BJP Yuva Morcha at Cassia Hall in the city on Tuesday, Goyal said that the government plans to provide water, road, power, toilet and other basic amenities all over the country by August 2022. He said that his government aims at meeting this target three years ahead of the deadline.

Goyal also used the occasion to blast the Congress government in Karnataka as there was a power outage for four times in one hour during his speech.

"I think the Congress has no right to continue in power in Karnataka. If the government fails to ensure uninterrupted power supply at a Union Minister's programme, why should the Congress continue in power? It is a shame on the state government," he said.

Elaborating on the welfare programmes and reforms launched by Prime Minister Modi, Goyal said not a single corruption case was reported against the Union Ministers in the last three years.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become more popular after demonetisation of high value currency notes. He has been working day and night for welfare of the people. He has not taken a single day leave in three years," he said.

MLC, V Somanna, MLA, C T Ravi, and several BJP leaders took part in the programme.

Politicians make a career out of the misery of Dalit and backward castes. I'm saying this without bias towards certain political party.

We are about 70 years today since Independence. Once can blame politicians for it, but there is little progress on Dalit upliftment. When there is talk of pie in the sky reforms, real progress will be made if reservations based on caste are wiped off and instead implement a system for financial aid to the financially weak, regardless of caste.

Mark my words: We will still have reservations even in 200 years time. Why? Because it is profitable for a politicians to keep it that way!

Why should this be a big news ? Any politicians eat at Dalits house, it is covered by media as if the politicians have done a great favor to dalits. Are dalits are not human beings ? Dear dalit friends, never ever entertain these crooked politicians at your door step. They just do it for vote bank and not with love to your community. If they truly love you all, let them establish true relation by accepting you community girls as their daughter-in-laws. Will they do it ?

What drama by politicians - Vote banking. BJP or Congress, both visit Dalits or others only when it is time for drama to count on votes. Do these politicians really care for Dalits other wise, NO they DO NOT. Even till today Dalits are not treated at par with others any where, including Medical Treatment from what we see and what we read.
Come on leaders stop dram and start acting in real life. Give people their well deserved rights, treat them with dignity. They do not need your sympathy but they need your empathy. Stop your show off, start your sincere work towards up-lifting of weaker society.
Save farmers and wave off their loans, rather than waving off rich business tycoon's loans. Save our Farmers coz they are India's back bone. Thousands of Crores loans of rich Business men go waved off but poor dalits n farmers still have to work hard to re-pay loans else face music.
Stop Double standards oh you politicians and stop fooling people. !

From the picture it is clear that food was brought from outside. It is also not clarified how many spray bottles plus soaps plus shampoos were distributed to the Dalits before this feku Minister visited the dalit house. This is nothing but fekugiri taught by his boss and he is strictly following it expecting high position. BJP is so cheap that they can go to any level for their own benefit. shame on you.

Hahahahahahahaha, Our great Modiji had once made fun of Rahul Gandhi saying that some VIP's visit Dalit house and share their meals for photo ops. Now see the photo ops going on. A couple of weeks ago it was Amit Shah and now Piyush Goel. Each and every day we see the double standards exposed.
