Bengaluru: Harasser of Udupi job aspirant is Kashmiri politician's son, molested 200 women

Daijiworld Media Network –Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Jun 4: The man arrested recently for harassing a job aspirant from Udupi, is a son of a Kashmiri politician and he has molested more than 200 women, as per police.

Abid Gani (26) is the person arrested. His father Abdul Gani Vakil was social welfare minister in the Gulam Nabi Azad government in 2008.

Abid, who had posed as an HR executive to sexually abuse a job aspirant at an MNC bank, was arrested by the MICO Layout police on May 31.

The accused is a serial offender and has harassed nearly 200 women in the last two years using a SIM with UP registration, police informed.

Abid was caught only after the 25-year-old woman from Udupi filed a complaint against him.

Abid presently stayed at Puttenahalli in JP Nagar and worked for a BPO firm in Whitefield.

On May 25, he had sexually harassed the Udupi job aspirant after she had come to attend an interview at an MNC bank on BG Road. He phoned the victim that she had failed in the interview and he would help her. Believing the caller, the victim went outside the bank to meet him, where he sexually harassed her. The victim, who had managed to escape, filed a complaint with the police. The police tracked his movements and arrested him on Wednesday
.
After investigating further into the case, the police came to know that the accused had molested over 200 women in the city.

The police obtained the call details and spoke to the women and confirmed the harassment.

The accused confessed to the crime and said that he got the phone numbers of women from job portals. He would then pose as the recruiter to harass them.

The victim from Udupi was called later to the police station to identify Abid. She said he was the one who harassed her.

Police are investigating the case.

The time has come for a 'FULL STOP' / 'ZERO TOLERANCE towards all types of harrassment/sexual crimes against women/girl children.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Hope the 'Nirbhaya Act' is strictly implemented in the letter & spirit, without any scope for escape through any actual or probable loopholes in its enforcement.

Let it be a lesson of a lifetime to all law-breakers/potential molesters & rapists.

Fortunately, he is in Karnataka, Police are under Siddu. How can they arrest a son of a Congress worker? That was mistake of women who went to him. Not Gani's. He is a Congress worker and crimes committed by him are by default not crimes. Many commenters here agree with me. Am I right?

These kind of people threat to the society . Now cannot believe the interview taker is genuine or not. The people are struggling to get jobs after completing their education So easily fall in the trap of these kind of people .Good that this lady complained to the police and the caught him .Now his father will say my son is innocent .Since his father was a minister and the political influence the case will closed soon and he released . Then he will start his same business in some where else .Hope this person feel the pain if some one did to his mother or sisters
