Udupi: MP Shobha Karandlaje chosen as observer for Britain election

Udupi, Jun 2: BJP MP representing Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, Shobha Karandlaje, has been chosen as official parliamentary observer to represent India in the general election - 2017 being held at United Kingdom.

The general election of United Kingdom, which happens to be one of the oldest democracies in the world, is being held on June 8. Shobha Karandlaje will represent India, which happens to be the biggest democracy, in the capacity of parliamentary observer.

Shobha will take part in the election process of that country from June 3 to 10, it is learnt.

Shobha's choice was made under UK Election Assessment Mission scheme to represent India in the election as per the recommendation of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, a release stated.
