Mumbai: VPM College II PU posts yet another record-breaking brilliance

Mumbai, Jun 2: Eighty-nine students have scored distinction marks and as many as 141 students of VPM’s Vanaja Sunder Shetty Memorial Junior College, Mulund (E), have passed with first class in HSC examination 2017. The recent results declare that more than one-fourth of the students have obtained distinction results and nearly 60% of the rest have come out with flying colours.

Kavyashree Rama Devadiga created a record of sorts by being the first student in the history of the college to break through the glass ceiling of 90 % by scoring 586 marks (90.15%). Since the past few years, the college has been on a record-breaking spree.

Commerce stream


Science stream

Poorna Jaya Shetty was the runner up in commerce stream with 587 marks (89.07%) and Saba Kasim Patel obtained 574 marks (88.30%) thereby coming third in the college. In the science stream, the top position was notched up by Arbaz Amjad Khan who obtained 83.69 %, while Suraj Tanaji Bhandvalkar followed in hot pursuit with 83.08%. Shubham Vijaykumar Murya was not far behind with 82.62%. Continuing with the previous years’ history there was none in the pass class category in the commerce section while science section produced just two in this category.

The chairman, general secretary and all the members of the managing committee congratulated the students and eulogized the efforts of the teachers for their sincere
and dedicated efforts. They have planned to felicitate all the toppers as well as distinction holders as soon as the Junior College reopens.

Second rank - Shetty Poorna 89.07%
Third rank - Patel Saba - 88.30%
