Udupi, Jun 3: Anandakrishna Singh (46), who was beaten up at Mozambique, Africa, by the owner of the shop for which he worked and his son on the allegation of theft, has come back to India, thanks to the timely help rendered by minister for external affairs, Sushma Swaraj.
He touched down at Mumbai airport on Friday June 2 and will be coming here in two weeks, it is gathered.
Singh, who belongs to Alturu, Bengaluru, had been running a fast food and juice joint near Kalsanka when he was here. After bagging a job in Africa, Singh had left for Mozambique on October 15, 2015. He worked as storekeeper there. Singh's elder sister, Anita Suvarna, living at Kalsanka here, said that he was not being paid his salary properly.
The owner of the shop beat up Anandakrishna Singh recently after alleging that he was involved with theft. After Singh's sister tweeted to minister, Sushma Swaraj, about his sufferings, she responded to it by contacting the Indian embassy in that country. The minister saw to it that Anand was sent back to India. Anita has expressed her gratefulness to the timely help extended to her family by Sushma Swaraj.

Udupi man attacked in Africa, Sushma Swaraj contacts Embassy for action
Udupi, Jun 2: A man from here was assaulted at Mozambique in Southeast Africa. The person who suffered in this incident happens to be Anandakrishna Singh.
Anand, who hails from Mumbai, had settled down in the town with his elder sister, and was running a Kebab shop here. His friends say that he also frequented a gym at Santhekatte when living here.
The ministry of external affairs has taken steps to ensure the safety of Singh, it is learnt.
Reports said that Singh was beaten up by the owner of the shop where he works and also his son, after accusing him of stealing money. Singh somehow immediately contacted his friends and informed him about the incident. His friends in turn tweeted about the bad experience to external affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj. Sushma thereafter contacted the African embassy without delay and discussed the matter of bringing Anand back to India.
Anand Singh has been injured and bruised due to the attack. His friends have posted his photos on the Facebook. His friends have also mentioned in the social media that there are bright hopes of Anand reaching back here soon.
