Mangaluru, May 30: The lorry which rammed into a motor bike in which Ronald (28) and Roshwin Jackson D'Souza (21) were travelling and killed them on the spot before speeding away at around 12.45 am on Monday May 29 was moving on the wrong side of the road, reports said.
Both the cousins including Ronald, whose engagement ceremony was held on Sunday, had lost their lives on the spot in this accident.
Ronald, employed in a logistics company at Dubai, had come to hometown on May 12 and his engagement ceremony was held on Sunday afternoon at Shaktinagara here. Ronald was on the way to drop off Roshwin at his home at Bondel after the engagement function, when bad luck struck them. Ronald and Roshwin were the sons of two brothers. Ronald, who lost both his parents during his childhood, is survived by a younger sister, who is married. He used to stay in the house of his maternal uncle.
Roshwin has left behind his mother and brother. His father, Sebastian D'Souza, and an elder brother had passed away a few years ago. Roshwin lived with mother, Celine D'Souza, and elder brother, Joswin. Joswin, who is also on holiday, works for a Dubai-based company in which Ronald was employed.
Traffic (east) police in the city have registered a case. The police are carrying on investigation to determine the identity of the killer vehicle and its driver.
