5 killed in Jharkhand illegal mining


Ranchi, May 27 (IANS): Five people extracting coal illegally from a closed mine were killed on Saturday as it caved in Jharkhand's Giridih district, police said.

The incident took place at the Kabribad mine where around 300 people were extracting coal illegally, a police official said.

In Jharkhand more than 500 people have died while extracting coal from closed mines.
