CBSE Class XII results to be out on May 28 - ICSE, ISC on Monday

New Delhi, May 27 (DHNS): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare results for its Class XII exams on Sunday.

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) will declare the results of Class X (ICSE) and Class XII (ISC) board examinations at 3 pm on Monday.

The CBSE board put to rest uncertainty over the results following the Delhi High Court’s stay on its decision to scrap its marks moderation policy. The CBSE said it would declare the results and also comply with the high court order.

Students can access their results at www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in. “The results of the ICSE and ISC board examinations will be made available through the CAREERS portal of the council and through SMS,” the council’s Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon said.

Students can also obtain the results by sending an SMS to 9248082883. For ICSE results, the student will have to follow the format: ICSE (space) seven digit unique ID of the candidate. The format for ISC results is: ISC (space) seven digit unique ID of the candidate.

From this year, candidates can apply for a recheck of results directly through the council’s website. “The online module for submission of request for recheck of the results will remain open for seven days from the day of declaration of the result (i.e. from May 29 to June 4),” Arathoon said.

The court on Tuesday had directed the CBSE board to continue with its marks moderation policy for Classes X and XII this year.

It observed: “Rules cannot be changed after the game has begun. These children, who have worked so hard and burnt the midnight oil, are entitled to some stability, and the only stability they know is the system. Do not instil insecurity in them.”

The court was hearing a public-interest suit filed by a parent and a lawyer against the CBSE’s decision to end marks moderation from this year. As in previous years, the board will post results on the internet with technical support from the National Informatics Centre.

The CBSE had sought legal opinion to challenge the high court’s order in the Supreme Court. However, it dropped the idea after the government’s legal advisers recommended against it, saying the court had not said anything against the board’s decision to scrap the moderation policy.

The high court had only questioned the timing of the implementation, an official said. About 11 lakh students wrote the Class XII?board exams between March 9 and April 29.

The CBSE is yet to announce when it will declare its Class X results, which usually come out a few days after the Class XII results are out.
