Kundapur, May 26: An eleven years old girl slipped, fell and died in a drinking water pond dug on the side of a lake at Kodabail Maroor in Hengavally on Thursday, May 25.

Swathi is first daughter among two children of Kodabail residents Saraswathi and Mohan couple. She had passed 5th standard recently at Thombattu Durgaparameshwari School.

Thombattu Lake had dried up without water. Therefore the residents had dug a pond near the lake for water. Swathi had gone out to play with her friends near the lake while she slipped in the pond.

While Swathi fell in the pond, other children thought that Swathi was hiding behind sapling. They went searching for her at her house. The family of Swathi along with neighbors went searching for her.

After a long search in other places, they searched in the pond and found her dead body in it. Though Swathi was lifted and rushed to Halady hospital, the doctors there said that she had died.

Swathi had earned the love and affection from people in the vicinity with her humble and innocent behavior. Her death has brought immense grief and loss to her family. Hundreds of people arrived and conveyed their condolences.

A complaint stands registered in Shankaranarayana police station.

Kundapur police circle inspector Manjappa, PSI Sunil Kumar and staff visited the place of the incident.

How sad ,a girl of only 11years is no more within minutes or seconds. Is there anybody to be responsible made for her death? When a pond is dug,was it may be helpful to put a fence around it?Or to warn children not to come around to play.Heartfelt condolences to her family.may her innocent soul rest in heaven in peace.

Very Very Sad picture of little Girl to look at. Parents knew there is Pond dug next to their House. But did not care to keep watch on their playing Children. That shows the responsibility of today's Parents. Today Mother walks in front, talking and laughing, putting up a show on Her Mobile Phone. The little Child walks way far behind by the roadside. Mother will not even know if that Child is hit by vehicle. For her i-Pad is more important for gossip than Her Child's Life.
This is a lesson for Parents.
