Never-say-die Mumbai Indians lift IPL title

Hyderabad, May 22 (DHNS): Mumbai Indians scripted a tremendous comeback to win the Indian Premier League title with a thrilling one-run win over Rising Pune Supergiant in the final here on Sunday night.

At the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here, Pune restricted Mumbai to 129 for eight but faltered in their chase as Rohit Sharma’s men fought back with great zeal to claim their third IPL title. Pune ended at 128 for six, with Mitchell Johnson bowling a splendid final over.

With Pune needing 11 off the over, Johnson picked up two wickets, including the crucial one of Steve Smith (51) to derail their chase. Before that Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga also came up with inspired spells to bring Mumbai back into the game.

Earlier, the Mumbai batsmen failed to deliver against some fine bowling by the Supergiant bowlers, reaching 129 for eight.

The RISING PUNE SUPER GIANTS ,made the mess of run chase , its sickening to see heavyweights like steev and dhoni batting like amateurs in the depth overs . Its like they allowed mumbai indians to win , by making simple things difficult . Dhoni coming in at 4 to bat , its again surprising . Was it bask glory as he does it all the time ?! . But on a positive note mentor goenka deserved the defeat for his misandry and favoring foreign player over local legend .
