Mangaluru, May 19: Newly elected Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said on Friday, May 19 congratulated all new office bearers and said that the party will work on strengthening youth committees.

Addressing mediapersons at Congress Bhavan, Mallikatte Rai said, "The internal elections of district Youth Congress were successfully completed yesterday. Members elected new leaders. There was healthy competition among the contestants. Now after the elections, we are all one and will together."

"Our main motive is to strengthen youth committees from booth level. Our foremost challenge is to achieve a BJP-mukt Dakshina Kannada. We are focusing on the next assembly elections and will work for Congress candidates in all constituencies," he added.



The newly-elected presidents of six assembly constituencies and general secretaries were present.

It may be recalled, Mithun Rai had emerged victorious in the election after he defeated Luqman by a margin of 583 votes. While Rai garnered 4,059 votes, Luqman secured 3,476 votes.

    Let us wait till 2018 election to find out whether it is BJP or CONG must Dakishna Kannada.
    Till then let us have a peaceful Mangalore with no rowdisam and communal flare ups. Time for these young prospective leaders to change their approach and be approachable for the common man. Time to shed their egos and bodyguards

    Dear Youth Congress Leaders. While appreciating your aspirations let me suggest a few things. First make congress fraction mukth.second make congress a party of devoted workers and supporters. Right now it is a party of leaders in the district.Third start connecting yourself to the youth and educated. Somehow large number of these sections in large have isolated themselves from congress because of the feudalistic attitude and functioning of your leaders. Fourth, have courage and determination to rise your collective voice against the wrong doings and failures of the opposition. For this you must read and understand what is happening , what has happened and what might happen in the society and economy. More importantly be approachable to All supporters, and opponents including youth who sympathize with other political ideology.
    Lastly take up youth issues in the field of education, employment, immoral policing, etc. Wish you all the best. India needs Congress and congressmen for a cordial and fearless living

    There is a petition on change.org by Congresshands (group in Facebook), asking Congress to end its sycophantic dynastic succession complex. Congress supporters first make Congress party democratic and then it will win elections automatically. Right now the party has been held hostage by one family and its loyalists.
