Kasargod: One killed in rickshaw-lorry collision

Kasargod, May 18: One person died on spot in an accident involving an auto rickshaw and a lorry on the national highway at Kumble Peruvaad on the morning of Thursday, May 18.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rafeeq (30) of Chukkimajal. He was an auto rickshaw driver in Kumble and used  to run the auto rickshaw in the night. The lorry was on the way to Mangaluru, while Rafeeq was going to his house in Chowki.

Rafeeq, who was stuck inside the mangled remains of the rickshaw was pulled out by locals. He was reportedly dead by then. The locals chased and caught the lorry driver and handed him over to the police.





Rafiq, a resident of Kuppadi, lived in Chukkimajal from the past few years. The traffic police have registered a case.
