Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 18: Karnataka governor, Vajubhai Vala, has approved the recommendations made by the state government which had nominated Congress leaders, Kondajji Mohan and P R Ramesh to the state legislative council. At the same time, he has turned down the recommendation made in favour of former legislator, C M Lingappa.

In his recommendation, chief minister, Siddaramaiah, had nominated C M Lingappa, a Congressman, to the council under educational and social service sectors. The governor, who scrutinized the details of contributions made by Lingappa, as furnished in an attachment to the recommendation papers to social service and educational sectors, found that he does not satisfy the criteria for being nominated under these sectors. He has therefore rejected the nomination.
