Kalburgi: Son passes SSLC with 51%, father takes out procession spending thousands

Daijiworld Media Network - Kalburgi (RJP)

Kalburgi, May 17: For some people it may look bit unusual, but not for this proud father. He spent Rs around 25,000 to celebrate when his son passed SSLC with 51% marks. He called the entire village for it and held a procession with joy and pride.

The incident took place at Benakanahalli near here.

Devendrappa is the father of Arjun who passed SSLC recently. Devendrappa became extremely happy as Arjun is the first person in his family to pass this examination. He says he was not confident that his son would pass this exam. When he heard the positive news, he was so moved that he decided to hold a public celebration.

Devendrappa called for a vehicle, engaged a DJ with music and made all the arrangements one would do with big celebrations. He bought sweets and distributed to people. People too rejoiced and danced happily.

Arjun had stayed in a residential school in Yadagiri to complete his SSLC. He wants to do ITI and work in a cement factory that will come up in his village.

Devendrappa is a farmer and Arjun is the eldest among his three children.

A very good action from his father. Son can tell this to his grandchildren or even grand grand children about his fathers action ,celebration about his sslc pass celebration. In picture son looks bit embarassed with all procession ?Such parents need our children ,to come forward in their studies or any job they do.Same time hope the son remembers this what his father had done to send to school instead of sending him to work as a cooly. One never know.Congratulations to his effort in school ,and father s recognization of passing.

Let the parents encourage and celebrate like this. Some parents eventhough their children succeeds in getting 90 per cent they are not satisfied. Anyway this son will come up with flying colors in the next final exam. Congrats and wish you all the best.

Congratulations Devendrappa, father of SSLC student Arjun. You are one of the very few parents for whom, you son is important to you than his marks.

The celebration for passing SSLC exam by your son, calling the entire village, will be remembered by your son, for rest of his life. This type of push and positive encouragement will boost his morale for his future studies and his career.

We wish Arjun, all the best.

He is a model and a lesson to most of the modern marks greedy parents. Remembered our school days. Parents were so happy if there was no red line in our marks card. Great Parent indeed!

    Some Bajrangis may be envying!

Also, that shows that the son never secured 50% plus previously.
It's a sort of encouragement let him improve further when he enters PU and onwards.

Deeply moved by this father's action. He is a role model to all parents who curse their children for not getting that 1% even if the child brings home 99% . It's a remarkable achievement if he is the first person in the family to do so. Congratulations!

Looking at the pride the father felt and the felicitation he received in the village, other students/children should take a lead, not expecting felicitation but to improve their own living conditions.

Good joke otherwise in a dull world. I remember a neighbour of mine not at all good in studies and also coming from a family where parents also were not so educated were so excited on their son passing 10th std that they bought him a bike. He was just pass with of course 3rd class. While other meritorious students did not even get a cycle. Sometimes the little joys of life must be learned from this kind of people perhaps.
