Mangaluru: Blindness does not stop these boys from excelling in PU exams

Mangaluru, May 12: Achievements of two boys is praiseworthy in the just announced state PU results. Both these boys have excelled while they suffer from permanent blindness.

Omkar Pavaskar from government PU College in Karwar and Prakash Balagannur from Alva’s College in Moodbidri are the boys who have made their parents and colleges proud by their special achievements.

Omkar has scored 94.33% is Arts with 88 in English,96 in Hindi, 95 in history, 94 in economics, 100 in sociology and 93 in political science. His mother’s help also is remembered here as she used to read out all the lessons to him. She even recorded some difficult lessons in mobile phone and gave to him. Omkar studied them with high dedication. He had scored 92% in the SSLC exams.

Prakash has scored 553 marks with a score percentage of 92 in Arts. He originally hails from Kushtagi in Koppal district. Alva’s College has provided him with free education and accommodation under adoption scheme.
