Doha, May 7: In the third M Pallonji Cricket Tournament - division 1, Hanan XII had a well-fought victory over hosts M Pallonji by 30 Runs. The finals were played at the West Bay Cricket Complex, Losail on Friday, May 5, under slightly hot weather conditions.
 
M Pallonji sponsored the Veterans’ Cricket League for the third time with the co-operation of Chidananda Nayak, regional general manager of M Pallonji.

Hanan XII put up 70 runs for the loss of two wickets in the first 6 overs. Hanan XII totalled a massive 231 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Parvez was the star batsman who scored a century off only 35 deliveries with 13 huge sixes and a boundary. Niyamath also chipped in with 33 runs with 4 sixes and a boundary, Aswar scored 32 runs while Zameer 19 runs.
 
Firdous took 3 wickets, Dinesh, Ayub, Sandesh and Naveed took 1 wicket each from M Pallonji.
 
In reply M Pallonji started strongly and confidently, they scored 70 runs in the first 6 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. After that M Pallonji batsman could not maintain the momentum and were all out for 201 runs in 18.5 overs. Radiq was the main batsman from M Pallonji, who contributed 54 runs with 5 sixes and 2 boundaries. Ibrahim 29 runs, Talha 28 runs and Ayub 27 runs were the other contributors. Husni, Rizlath and Samir claimed 2 wickets each while Imran, Zamir, Aswar and Sahir took one wicket each for Hanan XII.

Hanan XII won the match by 30 runs.

At the well-attended prize distribution ceremony, was chief guest Chidananda Nayak, regional general manager of M Pallonji, special guest GJJ Raju, vice president of Andhra Cricket Association, and guests of honour Sharad Reddy, contracts manager of M  Pallonji, and Zubair, AlZaman Exchange.
 
A special memento was given to Dr Tariq Kureshi, who was leaving Qatar, for good for his outstanding and exemplary services to the Qatar Cricket Veterans’ League.

Parvez of Hanan XIII was declared the Man of the Finals.

Best Batsman title was awarded to Rauf of Hanan XI. Best Bowler title was bagged by Thisaru of M Pallonji. The best All-Rounder title was given to Niyamath of Hanan XII. Best Wicket Keeper title was bagged by Neeraj of M Pallonji.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by supporters and well-wishers. Over 300 prizes were given away to various players in the tournament.

The prize distribution ended with complimentary refreshments and a Lucky draw for spectators.
