My humble request to the new airport director is
    1. Make sure that Mangalore Airport has a long term strategy of making it a truly international airport and plan accordingly.
    2. Dismantle the taxi association and allow all the modes of transport. First preference should be for quality not just because it has been going on since many years and many airports in India.
    3. Give preference to see if the present runway can handle future bigger flights. Flights like 777, 787 and their counterparts in Airbus are getting bigger & lengthier year after year. So we cannot just say that MIA is only for surrounding region of Mangalore/ Udupi. If it's expensive to extend the present runway make a suitable long term plan.
    4. Train the airport staff to be courteous to the passengers.
    4. Make sure that the entrance to the airport is not blocked by people accompanying the passengers and others. Freelance escorts to the taxis need to be stopped. It's not good that freelance escorts forcibly take passengers luggage. If the passengers need help then they can request the same with airport staff.

    Good observations. ..and rightly so...
Planning for the future is very important and professional and we'll trained staff of International standards is the need of the hour rather than hired staff from a subcontractors. ..
