Match Report for the matches played on April 28 & 29

Jeddah, Jun 1: In the first match played on April 28, Friday Stallions won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a massive total of 190 runs without losing a wicket in 10 overs; thanks to a superb batting performance by Salman as he hit the first century of the tournament 102 not out off 33 balls with 15 sixes and 1 boundary and very well supported by Kamran who remained not out on 65 runs off 28 balls with nine sixes and a boundary.

Chasing 191 in 10 overs, Zahid Group started well but kept losing wicket at regular intervals and managed to score 120/4 in 10 overs losing the match by 70 runs. Afroz scored 39 off 14 balls with 5 sixes and a boundary. Mahmood took 3 wickets for 18 runs. Salman was declared the man of the match for his scintillating knock of unbeaten 102 runs.

In the second match, Saudia Gladiators were put to bat first by FH CC and scored 122/7 in their allotted 10 overs. Shahed top scored with 46 and Waqas scored 34. Farooq & Mubashir took 2 wickets each.

In reply, FH CC managed only 103/5 in 10 overs losing the match by 19 runs. Yasir Rana remained unbeaten on 45 runs. Zubair, Ahmed Razi and Waqas took a wicket each. Shahed was declared the man of the match for his excellent knock of 46 runs.

In the third match, Warriors continued their winning streak as they beat Deccan Youth by 38 runs. Batting first, Warriors scored 133/3 in 10 overs with Saddam top scoring with 40 runs, Zaheer 34 and Quraishi 22 not out were the other contributors for Warriors. Asif, Shafiq & Farhan picked a wicket each.

Chasing 134 in 10 overs, Deccan Youth could manage only 95/4 in their 10 overs thus losing the match by 38 runs. Quraishi picked 3 wickets. Quraishi was declared the man of the match for his all-round performance of 22 not out runs and 3 wickets.

Four matches were played on Saturday April 29 at BMT Grounds.

In the first match played on Saturday, GBEST IDB registered their first victory when they defeated Asia XI by 68 runs. Batting first, GBEST IDB scored 153/5 in 10 overs with Rizwan top scoring with 49 runs followed by Mazher 29 runs, Abdullah 25 runs and Muzaffar 23 n.o. runs. Sayeed Rashed and Shoeb took a wicket each.

Chasing 154 in 10 overs Asia XI were restricted to 85/9 in their 10 overs. Shoeb was the top scorer for Asia XI with 24 runs. Abdul Qavi took 3 wickets and a wicket each was taken by Rizwan and Mazher. Rizwan was declared the man of the match for his 49 runs and 1 wicket.

In the second match, Pepsi Alliance defeated Jeddah Gladiators by 46 runs. Batting first, Pepsi Alliance scored 161/4 in 10 overs with Daniyal top scoring with unbeaten 73 runs with 11 towering sixes and a boundary, Waqas remained unbeaten on 29 runs. Manna and Qassim took a wicket each.

In reply, Jeddah Gladiators managed only 115/2 in their 10 overs losing the match 46 runs. Asif scored 46 and Mannan 26.Ahmed Rizvi and Israr took a wicket each. Daniyal was declared the man of the match for his excellent knock of 73 n.o. runs.

In the third match, Young Star defeated Arcoma by 7 wickets. Batting first Arcoma scored 83/6 in 10 overs. Abdul Raheem was the top scorer for Arcoma as he made 22 runs followed by Rukshan who scored 17 runs. Furqan Altaf took 2 wickets.

Young Star achieved the target 89/3 in in 6.4 overs winning the match by 7 wickets. Aamir scored 33 n.o. runs and Abu Hurairah 16 runs. Aamir was declared the man of the match.

In the last match, Lothers CC beat Junaid CC by 9 wickets. Batting First Junaid CC managed 70/8 in their allotted 10 overs. Faraz scored 18 runs, Abdul Wahid and Samiullah took 2 wickets each.

Lothers CC chased down the target in only 4.1 overs with Abdul Wahid’s quick-fire 41 runs off just 14 balls, Waqas remained unbeaten on 18. Lateef took 1 wicket. Abdul Wahid was declared the Man of the Match.
